As of 26 February there were 21 unallocated substance and maladministration cases, which is a slight decrease from the 24 unallocated cases at the end of December 2020. It is currently taking us 6 months to allocate these types of cases to an investigator.

We are currently recruiting to fill two Senior Investigator posts which it is hoped will help reduce our backlog further. This recruitment will take a bit of time to reach a conclusion.

There are no delays in processing applications for referrals, admissibility reviews or undue delay investigations.

All staff are continuing to work remotely due to COVID-19 so if you wish to contact us please email us at contact@scoaf.org.uk. Alternatively, you can leave a message on our phone and a member of the Enquiries Team will call you back. The team are happy to answer questions you may have about the process. The time limits for making an application are set by legislation and so it is very important that you contact us a soon as possible if you are thinking about making an application to SCOAF.
